Large varieties of micro-organisms antagonistic to soil-borne plant pathogens have been reported, but screens
for antagonism have focused primarily on bacteria and filamentous fungi (Whipps 2001). There is a paucity of
published information with regard to the use of yeasts as biocontrol agents of soil-borne plant pathogens.
