Laboratory Test on Reinforced the Tractor Road Subgrade in Cold Region by Seepage Drainage Geogrid
With the rapid development of Agricultural mechanization, the number of large and medium-sized agricultural machinery are increasing rapidly. Furthermore, completing the rural network of tractor road, improving its quality, not only the significant content of built new rural, but the crying needs have transformed the growth pattern. Development requirement of modern agricultural machinery wasn’t satisfied by the backward rural road .At present tractor road mainly is the soil subgrade in China’s northeast countryside. It is more susceptible to the soil with high moisture content of surrounding farmland and produce serious subgrade water damage under the effect of climatic conditions in the seasonal frozen region. Seepage Drainage Geogrid (SDG) is a kind of geogrid which can adjust the moisture distribution of soil subgrade under the action of freezing-thawing. In this paper, the indoor freezing-thawing cycle test is carried out by a small soil subgrade model of SDG. The test results show that: when frozen, the soil with SDG can quickly respond to the outside temperature changing, so that the soil can be frozen as soon as possible, improving its strength. When melting, the convective microcirculation system formed between the grille and the outside world can remove some moisture from the soil around the SDG, reduce the moisture content of the soil around the SDG cavity, and stop the rise of capillary water, reducing the soil moisture content. Therefore, it can be concluded that SDG can reducing water damage to the subgrade in the China’s northeast rural areas. The test results show that: when frozen, the soil with SDG can quickly respond to the outside temperature changing, so that the soil can be frozen as soon as possible, improving its strength.
