Analysing Skeletal Microstructure to Treat Hypoparathyroid Hormone Deficiency
High-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography is a noninvasive imaging technology that can provide insight into skeletal microstructure and strength. Hypoparathyroidism is the combination of symptoms due to inadequate parathyroid hormone production. This is a very rare condition, and almost always occurs because of damage or removal of parathyroid glands at the time of parathyroid or thyroid surgery. This paper analyses the abnormalities in skeletal microstructure to treat parathyroid hormone deficiency.
